Riaz is the Head of Intellectual Property Services at Global IP Partners, bringing over 18 years of experience advising world-leading IP professionals across high-tech corporations, top-tier law firms, universities, and IP technology providers.
With a Master’s in Engineering (Biotechnology) from USET IPU, Delhi, and a Degree in Intellectual Property from NALSAR University of Law, Riaz integrates technical depth with commercial IP insight, enabling organizations to align complex innovation pipelines with robust, strategically positioned patent portfolios.
Before joining Global IP Partners, he held senior management roles at Evalueserve, Effectual Services, and IDS Info, where he led global teams delivering strategic Patent Analytics, Technology Landscaping, FTO and Infringement Assessments, Invalidation and Opposition Searches, Patent Drafting support, and competitive intelligence programs for multinational clients.
At Global IP Partners, Riaz leads a multidisciplinary team of Patent Engineers and Researchers specializing in life sciences and healthcare, including Biotechnology, Biopharma, Vaccines, Gene & Cell Therapy, CRISPR/Cas9, Immunotherapy, Biosimilars, Diagnostics, and Personalized Medicine alongside Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, AI/ML, Clean Energy, Advanced Materials, and Mechanical Engineering.
He has played a pivotal role in developing Pat_iOTA, the firm’s proprietary IP intelligence platform. He has spearheaded the creation of Bio FTO Alert, a SaaS solution that empowers biotech companies to proactively monitor patent landscapes, manage infringement risks, and navigate FTO challenges with precision.
Riaz collaborates closely with CTOs, IP Counsels, Patent Attorneys, Licensing Leaders, and Innovation Heads, helping them transform IP portfolios into strategic business assets. His work has earned recognition from leading organizations, including Kasowitz Benson Torres, Abbott, Latham & Watkins, Dentons, Broadcom, General Electric, Nestlé, Fish & Richardson, Foley & Lardner, Alston & Bird, Baker & Hostetler, Dorsey & Whitney, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, and K&L Gates.
